Summer Solstice
It is said by some that the Indians would gather on Whipple Hill at sunset on the Summer Solstice. At that time, the sun should set directly behind Mt. Monadnock. Is Mt. Monadnock in the photo?
Early Spring
The last ice on the pond is melting to fill the brooks.
Unfortunately, the spring has also brought some other changes. There is the addition of a dining room set and someone's "artistic" attempt to improve on nature.
Late Summer 2010...
The dry weather has dramatically reduced the pond water level. Below are before and then after three days of rain totally near 2.5 inches. Notice that in the eastward view before the rain the entire foreground region in the shadow is simply a mudflat.
