Fallen Tree

This fallen tree is just one of many sizable trees and branches that were brought down by the early snow storm last October.

No, I think it's natural.

Where is it located in reference to Whipple Hill???? Does it have a inlet stream and a outlet one???

If you look at the trail map, (click on the link in the first paragraph to open a larger, pdf version), you can see this pond at the very top to the left of Locke Pond. You can also see that it has an outlet stream running down to Locke Pond.

I'm not sure there is a specific inlet source. My guess is that it fills with run-off from the surrounding area, as it lies very much in a gully. Perhaps there is also a spring source.

Ok Don I see it and what about that stream running from Locke Pond to Summer street that the map shows. Is that a true representation, for if it is than that is where a old bridge crossed the stream right after you pass under Summer street thru the cow crossing. I used that crossing many times as a kid....Later Robert
